WUSF

TAMPA – WUSF Public Media is located on the campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa, and is licensed to the University of South Florida. WUSF is a trustworthy source for local and national news, in-depth reporting, educational programming, arts, culture and the finest in jazz and classical music.

WUSF 89.7 is the NPR station for west central Florida, with listeners and members from Crystal River in the North, to Port Charlotte in the South, and Osceola County to the East.

WUSF 89.7² offers a second stream of programming via HD Radio technology and streaming internet audio.

WUSF TV – Since 1966 WUSF TV has delivered quality television programming to viewers in west central Florida.

We deliver customized communications, production and technology services to clients in the corporate, government, education and non-profit sectors.

New Media uses internet technology to support WUSF’s mission and the core values of public broadcasting.
WUSF offers daily and weekly podcasts of local newscasts and public affairs programming, video podcasts, RRS feeds and live streaming audio of our two radio program channels – WUSF 89.7, and WUSF 89.7².

WEDU

TAMPA – WEDU, serving the 16 counties of west central Florida, exists to serve the public good and to aid in the creation of an informed citizenry. Through quality programming using new technologies and community outreach, WEDU fulfills the needs of individuals for education, information, and culture enabling people and communities to connect, to grow, and to lead more fulfilling lives. WEDU educates, informs and enriches lives.

PBS (Public Broadcasting Service)
PBS is a private-nonprofit corporation whose members are the 346 noncommercial stations serving the US, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. Of those stations, 52% are community organizations, 31% are colleges and universities, 11% are state authorities and 6% are local municipal authorities. PBS does not produce programs; PBS distributes programs obtained from member stations such as WEDU, independent producers, and producers and distributors from around the world.

WMFE

ORLANDO – Relevant, unique, local! These are the qualities Central Florida viewers and listeners use to describe the programming found on the public radio and television stations of WMFE.

These stations, known as Digital Channel 24 and 90.7 WMFE-FM, serve an 11-county Central Florida area with non-commercial, non-profit, member-supported public broadcasting. They have been community owned and locally governed since 1965.

The stations of WMFE are a unique local treasure, enjoying the wide respect, recognition, and support of literally hundreds of thousands of Central Floridians. Today, Channel 24 is viewed each week by more than 476,750 television households. Likewise, 90.7 is listened to by more than 180,000 people each week.

WGCU

FORT MYERS – The Mission of WGCU Public Media is to provide media content and services that enrich the lives of our citizens and strengthen the social, democratic, and cultural health of our region by fostering personal growth, celebrating human diversity and motivating community engagement.

WGCU History

WGCU Public Media and its predecessor WSFP-TV/FM have served Southwest Florida with the finest in public television and radio programming for over 25 years. Originally a satellite operation licensed to the University of South Florida, WGCU Public Media became an independent entity in 1996 when the broadcast licenses were transferred to Florida Gulf Coast University, a new public university that was being built to serve the Southwest Florida region. The stations’ call letters were changed to WGCU-TV/FM, and a new state-of-the-art broadcast facility was built as part of the new university’s campus.

Since that time we have dramatically strengthened and expanded the physical infrastructure, the financial base and the media services that now comprise WGCU Public Media:

WMNF

TAMPA – WMNF first went on the air in September, 1979, the result of a few years of hard work by a small group of dedicated volunteers who went door-to-door raising money for Florida’s first community radio station. The call letters stand for: Member-sponsored Non-commercial FM.

WMNF continues to be volunteer-powered and listener-sponsored, providing the listening community with eclectic music as well as non-mainstream news, views and public affairs programming. Thanks to all the wonderful WMNF volunteers, staff, board of directors and more than 10,500 listener-sponsors! Radio for the rest of us!

WMNF is a 70,000 watt non-commercial, listener supported community radio station, licensed to the Nathan B. Stubblefield Foundation, a non-profit organization established solely to operate WMNF. WMNF is a section 501(c)3 charitable organization. All gifts and donations are tax deductible in accordance with the law.

WLRN

MIAMI – WLRN is Public Radio and Television for South Florida.
WLRN Radio signed on in 1948 as a non-profit, non-commercial broadcast station licensed to the School Board of Dade County. WLRN-TV followed in 1955. Since then, WLRN has grown steadily to become an integral part of the community it serves, offering a rich and varied mix of news and information, arts and culture, childhood education and lifelong learning.

WLRN is a multifaceted media enterprise, comprising a television and a radio station, cable services, and closed-circuit educational channels.

New digital television and radio channels now complement more traditional broadcast services, ushering in the next stage of WLRN’s evolution.

Today, WLRN continues to provide quality public radio and television services to a combined weekly audience of well over a million people in South Florida, from Palm Beach to Key West. WLRN also provides media support to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, whose 320 schools have an enrollment of over 319,000 students.
